Crestline Police and the Crawford County Special Response Team safely resolved a mental health-related standoff at a residence on West Thrush Avenue on Thursday night.

CRESTLINE, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Crestline Police responded to a welfare check at 601 W. Thrush Ave. on February 26, 2026, at approximately 7:39 p.m., to assist a female reportedly experiencing a mental health crisis.
Upon arrival, officers engaged with the individual, who mentioned possessing a firearm. Prioritizing the safety of all parties involved, the officers withdrew from the residence. Tensions escalated as the situation developed into a standoff, with the individual reportedly making threats toward law enforcement.
After unsuccessful attempts to communicate with her, authorities activated the Crawford County Special Response Team, who promptly arrived on the scene. Through coordinated efforts, the situation was resolved, and the individual was taken into custody without further incident. She was subsequently transported to a medical facility for evaluation.
A detailed report will be submitted to the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office for review and possible charges.
The Village of Crestline issued a statement expressing gratitude to all assisting agencies, including the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Bucyrus Police Department, Galion Police Department, New Washington Police Department, and the Crestline Fire Department, for their professionalism and support in ensuring a safe resolution to the incident.
