GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – The Grady County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) is asking for the public’s help in locating 38-year-old Marvin Lee Battle Jr.

According to a press release from the GCSO on Feb. 24, Battle boarded a Greyhound Lines bus in Norcross, Georgia, at approximately 1:40 p.m. to travel home.

“The bus made a scheduled stop in Atlanta at approximately 2:20 PM before continuing south,” officials said.

“Marvin Lee Battle Jr. was scheduled to arrive in Valdosta, where he was to be picked up by his father, Marvin Battle. The bus experienced delays during the trip but ultimately arrived in Valdosta at approximately 8:10 PM. When the bus arrived, Marvin Lee Battle Jr. did not exit the bus and has not been located since.”

GCSO officials said the following about Battle’s mental health conditions.

“He is known to suffer from several serious mental health conditions, including bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, hallucinations, and major depression, which may impair his judgment or ability to seek help.”
