CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Tanager officials on Wednesday marked the opening of a new therapeutic child care program in Cedar Rapids, expanding services for young children who need additional emotional, behavioral and developmental support.

The nonprofit held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3 p.m. at Tanager’s Estle Center, 1030 Fifth Ave. SE, to celebrate the launch of its Bright Foundations Therapeutic Child Care program.

Leaders said the program is designed to provide early intervention services in a structured and nurturing environment for children who require more support than traditional child care settings typically offer.

Brief remarks preceded the official ribbon cutting, followed by refreshments and an opportunity for attendees to meet staff and learn more about the program.

Tanager, a Cedar Rapids-based nonprofit, provides mental and behavioral health services, foster care and other support programs for children and families across eastern Iowa. Officials said the new therapeutic child care program reflects the organization’s continued focus on early intervention and family support.
