Healthcare providers regard catatonia as an important syndrome to consider and treat, especially when it happens with schizophrenia.

The American Psychiatric Association removed catatonic schizophrenia from its list of official diagnoses when updating to the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), published in 2013. The World Health Organization (WHO) removed “catatonic schizophrenia” from the International Classification of Diseases when updating to the 11th edition (ICD-11) in 2019.

  4. This was my dad. He passed away a couple a years ago due to cancer. I always thought dad was a little bit "off". He explained this to me when I was very young, but I had no way to comprehend it, because I was a child. I was always scared for him 😢

  5. Found this on accident. I used to have episodes like this when i was a teenager going through emotionally taxing times between my parents and GF. I was able to snap out of it both times it occur. One time i reqlly thought i was stuck like that. I could hear everything. I couldnt move anything. It was freaky.

Yo tengo el diagnóstico de esquizoafectivo, pero en sí lo que yo más siento son los síntomas de los trastornos de ansiedad por separado, también tengo toc, depresión enmascarada y rasgos esquizotípicos, paranoides, esquizoides y del trastorno facticio, porque yo lo que más siento es taquicardia preocupación excesiva síntomas de la ansiedad pero por separado, a veces que comienzo a llorar por cosas que me acuerdo o así nomás, un miedo intenso, me da ganas de producir las voces porque yo quiero o sea yo produzco las cosas porque yo quiero es que en realidad no tengo síntomas de escuchar voz sí me entienden? Y también tengo un deseo de querer tener una enfermedad mental, porque me llama la atención en este caso todo lo que tiene que ver con el espectro esquizofrénico, la verdad yo no tengo esquizofrenia pero que Dios los bendiga a ellos, perdóname por esa manera de pensar que yo tengo pero es que es mi manera de pensar, tengo pensamiento medio raro aunque yo lo reconozco raros yo soy consciente de que esos pensamientos no son así pero tengo una creencia así de que por tener una enfermedad crónica o grave la gente va a tener compasión o cosas así, o por tener una enfermedad crónica soy inteligente por tener el pelo largo todo aquel que tenga pelo largo esquizofrénico, y todos esos pensamientos me lo quiere quitar mi psiquiatra con resperidona que estoy tomando ahora pero en dosis bajas, y scitalopram en pastillas, tengo 18 años de edad.
