SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – Behavioral Health Network’s Kamp for Kids teed up its 2026 “Golf Fun-raiser” Thursday afternoon at Max’s Lounge in Springfield. The goal of the event was to raise funds to support their inclusive summer camp, all while having fun with mini-golf, virtual golf, and community fellowship.

Instead of selling tickets, BHN asked supporters to back Kamp for Kids through sponsorships, monthly donations or one-time gifts during the ‘fun-raiser’. These donations ensure every child can experience Kamp for Kids regardless of ability or financial circumstance.

The program serves about 150 children and young adults, ages 5 to 19, with and without disabilities from across western Massachusetts

“One little boy said it best when he stood up there and he said, he, I believe, has autism spectrum disorder. He said that the best part about camp for him is that he gets to make friends. Anywhere that he can make friends is a good place for him,” said Kathy Mague, the Senior Vice President at the Behavioral Health Network.

Kamp for Kids was founded in 1975 by Dick and Judy Hoyt to give their son Rick, who had cerebral palsy, and his brothers an inclusive summer camp experience.
