LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -Hope is growing across Mid-Michigan as the Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham Counties prepares for its annual community event.

CEO Sarah Lurie says this year’s theme,“Hope Grows Here,”will be highlighted Monday, March 23 at 9 a.m.at theLansing Center.

The free event will bring together community partners to reflect, celebrate and learn, while also releasing the agency’s 2025 annual report.

CMHA will also recognize a local NAMI chapterwith a distinguished service award honoring 50 yearsof support for families and individuals.

Lurie says the agency is expanding services through a new Crisis Care Center at the former McLaren Greenlawn women’s and children’s building, with renovations wrapping up this month and an opening planned for this summer.

Future plans include adding a 72-hour stabilization unit aimed at reducing emergency department visits and psychiatric placement waits.

This year’s keynote speaker is Kevin Fischer, executive director of NAMI Michigan and co-founder of Everybody Versus Stigma, focusing on awareness, inclusion and “planting seeds of hope.”

Organizers say registration is required, and attendees can also expect a free breakfast.
