WASHINGTON, D.C. — Innercare has achieved recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), earning both Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Recognition and the Behavioral Health Distinction, a significant milestone that highlights the organization’s ability to deliver high-quality, coordinated, and patient-centered care.

This dual recognition places Innercare among an elite group of health care providers nationwide committed to whole-person care, integrating physical, behavioral, and preventive services to improve patient outcomes and strengthen community health.

Innercare’s clinics across Imperial and Riverside counties met NCQA’s rigorous standards for care coordination, patient engagement, population health management, and continuous quality improvement. Recognized sites include: Blythe, Brawley, Calexico, Coachella, El Centro, Hemet, Mecca, Niland, West Shores, and Winterhaven.

“NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home Recognition raises the bar in defining high-quality care by emphasizing access, health information technology and coordinated care focused on patients,” said NCQA President Margaret E. O’Kane. “Recognition shows that Innercare has the tools, systems and resources to provide its patients with the right care, at the right time.”

The Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model transforms how care is delivered, focusing on long-term relationships between patients and clinician-led care teams, supported by advanced health information technology. This approach ensures patients receive the right care, at the right time, while improving access, communication, and outcomes.

The addition of NCQA’s Behavioral Health Distinction further highlights Innercare’s innovative approach to integrating mental health and substance use services into primary care. This coordinated model allows care teams to address both physical and behavioral health needs simultaneously, leading to better outcomes, improved patient experiences, and more efficient use of health care resources.
