TULSA, OKLA. (KTUL) — A Tulsa-based mental health organization is turning up the volume on recovery efforts with a community-focused benefit concert this spring.

GRAND Mental Health will host a Battle of the Bands fundraiser on May 16 at the Gateway Event Center, bringing together live music and a shared mission to support individuals working through substance use recovery.

Organizers say the event grew out of an idea from a staff member involved in the recovery community and has since expanded into a larger effort to raise both awareness and funding.

Proceeds will go toward programs that provide treatment, crisis care, outreach, and expanded access to services for those struggling with addiction.

“This event reflects the heart of our community and our organization,” said CEO Josh Cantwell. “It’s a creative way to bring people together, reduce stigma, and show that recovery can be both meaningful and enjoyable.”

In addition to serving as a fundraiser, the event is designed to highlight the realities of recovery—both the challenges and successes—while encouraging community support.

Organizers say addiction impacts many families across Oklahoma, and events like this help foster connection and understanding.

The concert will be a 100% sober event, open to the public, and will feature performances from local bands.

Officials say each ticket purchased helps support ongoing efforts to provide care and create opportunities for individuals seeking stability and long-term recovery.
