Police said they attended the incident. at the Orbital retail park, in response to concerns for the welfare of a person on Tuesday, March 31.

The force said the ‘crises’ had been safely resolved and the person involved was being given support.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We responded to a concern for the welfare of a person undergoing a mental health crisis at the Orbital shopping centre in Swindon. 

“The incident has been resolved safely and they are being given appropriate support.”

According to one person shopping at the Orbital this afternoon, emergency service vehicles could be seen at around 3pm, with the incident ongoing for at least an hour.

The South West Ambulance Service Foundation Trust (SWAST) has been approached for more information.
