POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (KFVS) – Southeast Missouri Behavioral Health, now part of Centerstone, will hold a grand opening and ribbon-cutting for a new 10,000-square-foot behavioral health clinic in Poplar Bluff on April 10.

The clinic will offer psychiatric evaluations, medication management, counseling for co-occurring disorders, family and trauma therapy, care coordination, peer support, and group counseling and education.

The building was designed to provide a “well-lit, comfortable, safe and secure” experience for clients.

Cathy Schroer, Centerstone vice president of Southeast Missouri market Operations says, “Despite the increased number of people experiencing mental illness, there is still a great deal of stigma involved in acknowledging mental illness and people seeking treatment. Being able to provide care in a friendly and welcoming place is great for our patients and our clinicians.”

The $3.4 million project is funded through a 60/40 capital improvement match from the Missouri Behavioral Health Council and the Missouri Department of Mental Health.

Centerstone officials say the organization employs more than 200 people in southeast Missouri and provides services in eight counties.

“We are very proud of the commitment that our team members show their community on a daily basis,” Schroer said. “Their dedication and compassion to serve others is the foundation of our agency.”

The new facility is located at 1200 Sterling Drive in Poplar Bluff.
