America’s Greatest Workplaces for Mental Well-Being 2026 recognizes the greatest workplaces in the United States for their dedication to and support of employee mental health from the perspective of U.S. workers. The study involved an assessment of publicly accessible data and a large scale confidential online survey conducted among employees from U.S. companies. For the scoring of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Mental Well-Being 2026, only employers with more than 1,000 employees were considered.

A large scale, national survey was conducted between April 2025 and October 2025 that gathered more than 2.7 million company reviews from more than 179,000 employees. In addition, data from three previous studies that took place between 2022 and 2024, encompassing more than 4.9 million reviews and 400,000 interviews, were integrated with a reduced weight. This makes America’s Greatest Workplaces for Mental Well-Being 2026 one of America’s largest independent studies on employer support for mental health in the United States.

As part of the Desk Research initiative, a comprehensive analysis identified Key Performance Indicators tied to an employer’s support for mental health. These metrics include the availability of dedicated mental well-being resources, flexible working hours, employee assistance programs and support for hybrid and remote work.

Plant-A partnered with Aniline.ai, a leading HR analytics firm, to consider more than 37 million data points across more than 120 KPIs. The most relevant KPIs tied to mental well-being from the perspective of employees—such as Time Off, Flexibility and Scheduling— were weighted higher in the analysis.

The Critical Mention media monitoring platform from Onclusive was utilized to screen companies for adverse media coverage and public records between December 31, 2023 and December 31, 2025. This comprehensive review identified company involvement in a wide range of significant issues, including legal and regulatory actions and workplace and labor violations. Any company implicated in these activities was excluded from the final ranking list. To validate exclusions and ensure accuracy, Newsweek and Plant-A Insights conducted multiple iterations of the media monitoring process.

Utilizing a proprietary scoring model, a final project score was calculated for each company, considering all relevant weights on target groups, questionnaire items, categories, and desk research elements. The highest-scoring companies have been recognized as America’s Greatest Workplaces for Mental Well-Being 2026.
