The Chaffee County Public Health has introduced a new community-focused program, “We Are Chaffee’s Heart,” aimed at strengthening mental health awareness and support across the county.

The initiative is designed to equip participants with practical skills to recognize and respond to signs of emotional distress, while also working to reduce stigma and address common misconceptions surrounding mental health. Program leaders say the effort will help build a stronger, more connected care network throughout Chaffee County.

Key components of the program include improving confidence in supporting others, fostering open conversations about mental health, and developing real-world tools to assist friends, coworkers, and neighbors in times of need.

“We Are Chaffee’s Heart” is tailored for teams, organizations, and community groups. The free, three-hour sessions aim to create a more supportive and resilient Chaffee County for all residents.
