CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A powerful community event focused on mental health awareness is returning to the Lowcountry next month.
Revitalize U’s “Stoney 100” will take place May 8–9 at Stoney Field, bringing together runners and walkers of all levels to support mental health initiatives and raise money for the local nonprofit Charleston Hope.
Participants can choose distances ranging from a 5K to a 100-mile run, all with a shared goal: breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and reminding those who are struggling that they are not alone.
Organizers say the event is about more than miles logged — it’s about community impact. In 2025, the Stoney 100 raised more than $15,000 for local organizations supporting youth mental health. This year, partnerships with Sweat on the Ship and Sweat Collective aim to expand that impact even further.
Proceeds will benefit Charleston Hope, a nonprofit working to increase access to mental and behavioral health resources in Title 1 schools across Charleston. The organization focuses on student well-being, providing critical support to underserved children, and creating safe, supportive learning environments while reducing the stigma around mental health.
Participants are also encouraged to fundraise and share personal stories, helping spark conversations and build a stronger support system across the community.
