With an increase in hoarding cases in Jefferson City, police officers walk a thin line in addressing safety issues and providing mental health resources.
Martika Hitt, a crisis intervention officer with the Jefferson City Police Department, told the city’s Human Relations Commission on Friday that she’s seen several cases of extreme hoarding within the past year in Jefferson City.
