NBC 5, Telemundo 39, and NAMI North Texas invite you register today and join us at NAMIWalks North Texas on Saturday, May 16, at Grandscape at The Colony. The annual event works to raise awareness for mental health, eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health, and to expand access for support. Opening ceremonies begin at 9:00 a.m. NBC 5 News Anchor Brittney Johnson returns as the event’s honorary chair!

NAMI North Texas is a local affiliate of NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness. They are a nonprofit organization that serves the North Texas area and offers no-cost programs that serve thousands in the Dallas, Collin, Denton, and Rockwall counties. These programs are crucial for people with mental health conditions, and they are powered by events like NAMIWalks North Texas, which raised more than $130,000 last year.

NAMIWalks North Texas will have two routes: ¾ mile and 2 miles. The two different route lengths ensure that everyone can participate and join the walk, regardless of age and ability. The event will also have a community resource fair, family-friendly activities, access to local organizations and mental health advocates, free parking, and is pet-friendly! Although the event is free, fundraising is encouraged and essential to the programs that NAMI North Texas offers. Participants who raise over $100 will also receive a NAMIWalks T-shirt!
