‘Boys are told to buck up’: Men’s barriers to seeking help with mental health | 17 News at Sunrise

Society raises men to be providers, protectors, and problem-solvers, that’s according to Behavioral Health Supervisor Jason Giffard from the Kern Behavioral Health and Recovery Services. Giffard adds that problems begin when we teach boys to “buck up” and hide their emotions. This is part of our Mental Health Awareness Month series.
