New 56-Bed Behavioral Health Center Expands Access to Care in Sandy
During Mental Health Awareness Month, Intermountain Health is taking a major step to expand access to behavioral health care in the Salt Lake Valley with the opening of a new 84,000-square-foot Behavioral Health Center at Intermountain Health Alta View Hospital in Sandy.
Opening in June, the new 56-bed facility will help more people get care faster and closer to home, with:
A walk-in Behavioral Health Access Center (no appointment needed)
Inpatient behavioral health services
Medical withdrawal management (detox)
A dedicated Maternal Mental Health Unit for people during pregnancy and up to one year postpartum
This new center is designed to ease pressure on emergency departments and provide a more supportive, specialized place to start when someone needs help.
