Oregon has a higher rate of suicide death than most other states, especially among older populations. Laurel Wonder, MSW, QMHP, a behavioral health specialist for Multnomah County, joined us to share the risks and warning signs for suicide among seniors, along with how we can get trained to help others.
If you are with a person who is having thoughts of suicide, or if you are having thoughts of suicide, resources are available. Call 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline or visit the Get Trained to Help website to reach behavioral health crisis lines for counties across the Portland Metro area.
