ESCANABA, Mich. (WLUC) – A free event in Escanaba sought to support moms dealing with postpartum symptoms.
The event was held in Ludington Park in connection with Postpartum Support International. Attendees could connect with mental health support groups, like Moxie Moms.
For the kids, there was face painting, prizes and games. St. Francis Health Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner Scot Rose says the goal of the event was to raise awareness.
“Raising public awareness and recognition of postpartum mood and anxiety disorders and just helping mothers to recognize that if they reach out, we can… people can get assistance and they’re not alone,” Rose said.
He says there was also outdoor yoga and a short walk. More information about the group can be found on its Facebook page.
