JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — The Alternative Community Resource Program — or ACRP — which provides behavioral health and family support services across five counties also announced an affiliation with IUP on Monday.

The partnership will allow medical students to gain hands-on experience, working with patients facing mental health challenges while learning in community-based settings.

“In the 40 years that I’ve been in this area, I’ve seen many doctors go and fewer doctors come. The idea of being able to get more rural doctors is a fabulous, fabulous opportunity for the whole area. And I’m so happy to see IUP starting their program and being able to collaborate with us.”

ACRP’s outpatient clinic is located at 119 Walnut Street in Johnstown.
