ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Independent filmmakers from across the Carolinas will be taking stage in Asheville later this month as a regional film event aims to spark conversation about mental health and raise money for local counseling services.
Hyder Productions and All Souls Counseling Center is partnering to host the first annual Asheville Mental Health Film Fest on Saturday, June 27, at Asheville-Buncombe Technical College’s Ferguson Auditorium.

The event will be from 3:30-7 p.m. June 27 and will include the premiere screening of “Long Time, No See,” produced by Hyder Productions, along with a showcase of independent short films submitted by filmmakers from across the region.
Organizers said the event is designed to bring together artists, advocates and community members for an evening of storytelling, conversation and connection.
Attendees will be able to vote for their favorite film for an Audience Choice Award, hear from local filmmakers during a panel discussion and support mental health services through a community raffle with 50% of proceeds benefiting All Souls Counseling Center.
