COVID – 19, Sunday 17th May

COVID-19 virus is not only attacking physical health

Psychological suffering.

Grief at the loss of loved ones…

Shock at the loss of jobs…

Isolation and restrictions on movement…

Difficult family dynamics, domestic violence is rising

Uncertainty and fear for the future…

Domestic violence is rising, and health workers are reporting an increased
need for psychological support.

Panic, anxiety, grief, numbness, irritability, insomnia and nightmares.

My spirit is broken,
my days are cut short,
the grave awaits me.

The human spirit can endure in sickness,
but a crushed spirit who can bear?

A mental illness crisis is looming as millions of people worldwide are surrounded by death and disease and forced into isolation, poverty and anxiety by the pandemic

Mental health problems, including depression and anxiety, are some of the greatest causes of misery in our world.

Even when the pandemic is brought under control, grief, anxiety and depression will continue to affect people and communities.

“The mental health and wellbeing of whole societies have been severely impacted by this crisis and are a priority to be addressed urgently,”

The United Nations is strongly committed to creating a world in which everyone, everywhere, has someone to turn to for psychological support.

  1. Thanks so much for this video (all your videos) but this has really helped and the way you speak about anxiety and mental health is so natural it doesn't even entertain a stigma, you are a good man Dr. John 💗

  2. I just find the mechanics of staying alive incredibly satisfying. I have a Chinese mask that claims to be an N95, and I tried it out in the supermarket today. Impossible to talk through it, and as claimed, after about an hour conditions get quite tropical. Luckily I do not have to take public transport, so at the moment it is definitely belt and braces. Go to two supermarkets at 8:00 am on Tuesday when you can still smell the disinfectant from the mopping down just before opening. I feel more fireproof than ever.

  3. So, what is your ‘medical’ opinion re four million unemployed next year? What is your ‘educated’ viewpoint on this? Piss off John? tens of thousands will die as a result of the fascist lockdown. More than Covid-19. All we had to do was defend the shielded/vulnerable and care home residents from February.

  4. Thank you Dr Campbell, I hope you are ok. I’m a bit worried about you. I just had a virtual meeting with my boss today and mentioned I was feeling low. For no particular reason, so I think it is due to the isolation and my mood is not proportionate with my environment. I appreciate you making things a little more clearly by describing mental health. I hope you are ok. You have been a god send.

  5. Hello there!

About a year ago last Spring 2019, I was suffering from a death anxiety disorder that resulted how long I am going to live due to my autism because I read a study research said the average life expectancy of a person with autism would be 36 years old but I just turned 23 on April 17th I was very worried for a while but not anymore because of the pandemic of the coronavirus.

  6. Hey guys, I am doing up a series on my take on mental health if you're interested in watching! Feel free to watch my content, can do with the support. Thank you and be kind xx

  7. Material things are all man made nonsense and people acquire them to try and fill the empty black hole in their soul.
If we have food in our belly and a roof over our head then we should consider ourselves rich.
    The rest is all nonsense.
We have definitely lost our way in worshipping material goods over trying to get our soul and spirit right.
I also think that the majority of depression in people comes from childhood trauma.

  8. This is a PLANNEDEMIC> 7 billion people making a citizens arrest of the billionaires starting
with BG! It's happening. The Human REVOLUTION and EVOLUTION is here.
All systems – medical, political, social, educational, religious, and
economic MUST collapse. This is necessary. Allow it all to collapse.
This is the only way to make way for the new earth; a world of equality,
compassion, transparency for EVERY HUMAN BEING. The 1% MUST GO! Peace.

  9. Problem drinkers affect as many as one in four people. Al-Anon https://al-anon.org/  If someone's drinking bothers you, there aresome evaluating questions. For those that may be self-medicating with alcohol. PLEASE, get help in AA. if drinking becomes an issue. An estimated 88,0005 people (approximately 62,000 men and 26,000 women5) die from alcohol-related causes annually. According to the niaaa.nih.gov it is the third leading preventable cause of death in the United States.

  10. Advertisers and the media keep telling us how big our glass is! Suppose it’s twice as big as it should be? It really is both full and not empty? It’s as good as it gets unless you choose .that it should be larger. Be content with what you have. Don’t be envious or jealous of others who appear to have more. Help others see that contentment is the aim. Happiness comes from helping others achieve contentment.

  11. I can vouch for this report.

I currently had my Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for my disassociation disorder that I started suffering after the death of my father, cancelled.
Because they obviously can't do face to face and I don't have the means to use video chat with the doctors; along with my asbergers, I can't communicate well with phones.

I was already on the waiting list for 5-6 months so i'm not happy.

On top of that my girlfriend has serious asbergers, breathing problems with her synesis, difficulty breathing on a night.
She's got nobody helping her, she can't communicate properly and people tend to see her communication problems as rudeness/aggression and wont serve/help her.
I live in another town to her, 25 miles between us.
It's like we don't have a mental health service anymore.

  12. I think the Government does not mind people being traumatized and isolated they will just sell them mood stabilizers and sleeping pills claiming it is their response to the insane conditions that is the problem not the conditions themselves.

  13. One has to be very careful when self-diagnosing mental health issues with clinical psychometric (self-report) forms. The phrase, ' A little knowledge is dangerous', springs to mind.

  14. Nice to see this, thanks for sharing.
