Lets Talk About Mental Health
Make your opinion heard on our forum: http://jacksgap.com/participate/t/lets-talk-about-mental-health/
For a while now i’ve wanted to tackle the subject of Mental Health on this channel. It’s something that is very important to me and something I feel incredibly strongly about. However I’ve always put it off because i’d never worked out how to approach it. In the end I decided just to talk about it in the same way I would to a friend because ultimately that’s exactly the way we should be approaching it. Please share your thoughts using our forum (linked below) or in the comment section.

I needed this…plain and simple…I just needed something like this….
I've been depressed for a year now. I deleted all my social media accounts. I don't want people to see me this way because it's very unlikely for me to have this since I'm the light of the party kind of guy. I tried giving hints to one of my "friends" but she just ignored it. Now I'm scared to express myself to any of my family members or friends (if i really have one) thinking that they wouldn't care at all.
This video was back in 2015, when people suffering from mental illnesses can't speak up about it. 4 years later, now it's 2019, those people has finally got the courage to open up but only ending up disappointed and even more triggered because nobody would believe them anymore due to this topic being overrated at the moment and due to ignorant other people who make fun of such illnesses. It's sad.
i have agoraphobia depression anxiety borderline personality disorder ptsd adhd i’m a mess i used to be a cutter
everyone runs away from me because of my cuts and my suicide attempts and everything so
VLOG HELP? MENTAL ILLNESS AWARENESS! Hi, I’m Katie I struggle with mental illness, with multiple diagnosis. I have been in therapy and have been hospitalized. I have attempted suicide, and obviously survived… our county’s mental health system is broken, there is a huge lack of education and understanding around the struggles ppl have who suffer from mental illness. ILL GET TO THE POINT. So basically, I want to start a Vlog: educating ppl, explain my experiences, and letting ppl know their not alone. BUT I don’t know how to VLOG? can you give me any pointers? Thank you
Dissociative disorder is scary. As not enough people understand it
Great video. Ty
I'm not sure if this is a mental illness or not, (probrobly not, I'm just weird) but my friends always tell me my heart is made of ice. The only thing I truly love is anime and myself. I hate everything else. In the end, the only person I'd be saving, is myself.I don't mind abortion, abuse, murder, cutting, suicide, self harm, etc. Not that I do any of those but if someone told me their a murderer, I'd probrobly say "AWESOME, HOW MUCH GORE WAS THERE." I guess to me, if more people get killed the population goes down. Less people less problems. They would say, "every life matters" and I would say, "you're one out of 7.5 billion, why should anyone care if you die" then whenever it says that someone died or something and everyone on the comments is like, the poor family or whatever and I'm here like, "you don't even know them tho, why should you care. You shouldn't" Whenever my friends say the want to kill themselves, I'm like, "then kill yourself, being gone is better than being miserable"
Lmao, do u guys think I have a problem? Personally I think I'm just weird, nothing of it. Also, sorry for the rant
Help me :''(
Thank you for this video!
Brazil is here🇧🇷
thank you
The stigma and minimal conversation around mental health is real. It's something that hits home for me. In an attempt to reach out, stand together and offer hope and encouragement, I've created a channel as well as a Facebook page where I share my stories and thoughts but also hope to engage people by talking about their own experiences and share resources and resolutions on the matter. We need empathy and humanity and to know that in a lot of mental health situations change for a better life is possible 🙂
he was so ahead of the time, talking about that in 2015… i mean, this is so useful! i'm so thankful for have found this now.
I have started a personal project called The Funda.Mental Project where you send me your story if you feel like sharing in 500 words or whatever makes you feel comfortable, and I will read it and share with as many people as I can, getting yourself to be heard. Getting to be heard is important and we all need the care and attention. This way we can connect share and look out for each other. Visit my just started channel to see the introductory video and get in touch. Yes, I myself also struggle with anxiety and depression so it's not easy to me, but it's something I have to do, for others and myself. Send me your story at edmendesitv1982@gmail.com
It will be read in English and translated to Portuguese too so I can post it to Brazil too, where I currently reside. Tell me your story.
God bless you all and take care!
Great video, we really need to change how people view mental health. I’ve had a long history of battling mental health and winning. Sadly I feel we will see an even higher rise in the number of people being affected. This is why early interventions are a must. #fightthestigma
Hii
So I live in Algeria (in North Africa) and we NEVER talk about mental health because of the stigma around it and the taboo of mental illness so me (I’m 16) and some of my friends decided to make an instagram account to spread awareness about the importance of mental health we started it 2 days ago and now we have more than 200 followers which is a really good beginning I think and I think that we all have to spread awareness in a way or in another.
PS: the name of the account is @helpingyousurvivedz
I know this was LITERALLY posted like FIVE years ago and you've probably moved passed it by now, but I myself am a Mental Health advocate and I actually started a Mental Health Campaign, #WDWSupportMentalHealth in the fandom of a band I like called Why Don't We! and it is SUCH an IMPORTANT TOPIC!!! I am SO glad you spoke out about it! THANK YOU!!!
♥️
Wow that's awsome. Would have been great to find this years back but better late than never. Very awesome video. I agree that too many suffer in silence which is also why my wife and I are opening up about our challenges…. thanks again and take care.
Mental health ( depression ) is really a big and people really need to fight with it not to deny it. And people that know someone who suffering from it need to be careful what they say or do around them.
I've been experiencing mental health issues for ten years, bipolar. It's been a long journey through doctors, medications, suicide attempts, and hospital visits. Do you have any current thoughts on the issue?
Jack, Love what you're doing brother! Keep up the good work ✊✊
Hey, we're PROJECT.Xeno, a New Zealand start-up focused on mental health support and awareness. We collaborate with those affected by mental health and work with them to provide quality crafted clothing. We then return a portion of the profits providing support to those affected.
We would love to work with you and spread our message, to help as many lives as we can.
jack was kinda ahead of our time, and i just noticed that. proud to see where are you now:)

The thoughts of a depressed mind 🍂
This is just but a piece of what happens in a depressed persons mind.
This is just to show how much of torture depression is about.
When you feel like it, just know you're not alone ,when you have someone like this ,don't judge but show love ,give hope and be there for them .
They say the true definition of torture is depression 😔😔let's not allow anyone go through such alone
Thanks for raising awareness about mental health Jack! We are an organizating that is aiming to reduce the stigma by doing exactly what this video preaches: talking about it. We featured interviews with college students who open up about their mental health challenges and how they've overcome them. It's been amazing to hear and learn from so many people's personal stories and recognize how vulnerability is so tied to being human.
We are trying to raise awareness at mental health chronicals channel, different but effective. Check it out when you got time.
Mental health is not a joke
thank you so so so much for this message. I really wish there was some help or at least people understood what I was feeling as a teenager. Well, that was the 90's when people really didn't have this awareness. Now we need you people like you to make people more aware of mental health issues.
This is great!
This is a great video to start opening conversations around mental health and illness. I'm someone who has struggled with depression and suicidal ideation for years now. Even in my good moments it can still be there nagging at the back of my mind edging me towards an end that I wasn't meant for. Its amazing to see so much support and helps throw some wood on the fire of passion going into the feature documentary im directing. It'll be tallkng about delving into suicide and mental illness in a way that people are scared to do.
You aren't a burden, your absence is.
This is so instructional. I have been trying to research for a vid similar to yours that really educates the stuff in this vid. 👨⚕️ 👨⚕️Your breakdown for sure is like the channel of Doctor Ethan. Ethan's explanations are actually knowledgable and I actually learned a lot for finals. He is a cool Dr in Nottingham!
You should watch his YouTube out and give the Dr a subscribe! ➡️ #DrEthanMedicine
This vid is informative. I've been trying to research for YouTube video similar to yours that really teaches the ideas in this YouTube vid! 🩺 🙌Your content totally is like the channel from Dr. Ethan. Ethan's explanations are knowledgable and I actually learned a lot for my school! He is a respected medical student in Europe!
I recommend you see his page out and give the Doctor a subscribe! ➡️ #DrEthanAdvice
They showed this in my school. Great video btw
the fact that he already aware of this issues since 2015 is terrific
I have never been depressed or lonely in my life. I have also been perfect in every way. How did you become depressed and what does it feel like? Can you tell me?
Dealing with illnesses such as Depression and Anxiety are difficult as it is, but when you mix them together, you end up on a rollercoaster of emotions that you can’t get off of. For example, I deal with Anxiety and Depression daily. What that basically means is that I worry everything yet I care about nothing. It’s a constant ride and sometimes, it’s even hard to explain what’s going on. Now, I’m not saying I’m the only one who suffers from this combination, I’m just saying I’m one of many and this is what I go through with it. There are also other things such as the Autism Spectrum that has very specific stigmas that go along with it. Some people may seem more obvious that they are on the spectrum, yet with others, you’d never know. Believe me, if you met me and you didn’t know I was on the spectrum, you wouldn’t have a clue. I often keep that to myself due to the stigmas attached and I don’t want people to treat me any different than anyone else they’d meet so I just don’t tell them. Anyway, thank you for this video Jack and thank you to anyone who took the time to read this. 🙏🏻
This is such an important message, Jack. Thanks for sharing your story and helping to end the stigma around mental health by talking about it.
Have a lovely day everyone! :=)
