  1. 100 percent agree! new actions and creating a new environment with your mental health is the way to make the program work… ITS WORTH IT!!!!!! trust me!

  2. This!!! I’ve found therapy unhelpful. They can’t tell you what’s wrong and they can’t help you get better. You can learn DBT and CBT and that’s it.

  3. I think getting the thoughts in the right order is the first step but getting into new habits and behaviors is the next huge one. I think if we get our thoughts in order, it’s easier to stop ourselves from doing a negative action. We can ask ourselves why are we actually doing this? And we can make the conscious choice to not take that action and take a better one.

  4. The modality that really taught me this was ERP. I went for severe hyper vigilance but turns out I have OCD. Also turns out, CBT can make rumination MUCH worse

  5. Sometimes its healing to remind yourself of several things 1. Today is a new day, you will never get another today. 2. Accepting that thoughts are thoughts and our minds are always working in our favor. When life gets messy and it most always will, its takes adjusting to a new way or new path and sometimes applying old solutions to new problems causes more old problems. 3. We never have it all figured out, no one does. And sometimes when we dont know what to do or say, do nothing

  6. How do you think affects how you act, this is According To Jesus it is not a myth. You're more likely to commit murder according to him, if you think lustful thoughts you're more likely to commit adultery

  7. What made me feel kinda better about how hard changing actions was when I got started was that, at least those could start small. At the very beginning, it was shouting 'WOW THE CLOUDS LOOK NICE TODAY' to myself in my car. And over the last half a decade it's built up to much bigger changes, but I think it's important to at least remember we don't have to start at the big part.

  8. ….and then there's the myth that if you actually make real changes that your life will actually get better. Sometimes, you escape the abuse, you change everything including your head, you grow, you change, you work hard – and all it does it make you even angrier because now you can see clearly, and the whole thing is just more obscene than it ever was. Mental health counselors need to be more realistic and stop gaslighting older women; most of us are going to die in poverty, either alone or being abused, and there's literally nothing we can do about it.
