MassHealth Behavioral Health Services

MassHealth Behavioral Health Services
Hello, I’m Emily Bailey, Chief of Behavioral Health for MassHealth.

Today, I’ll be talking to you about some of the mental health and addiction services available to MassHealth members.

25 brand-new Community Behavioral Health Centers, also called CBHCs, opened recently in communities across the state.

These CBHCs are one-stop shops for a wide range of mental health and substance use treatment programs and services.

Call or walk into a CBHC any day of the week to access:
same-day evaluation, assessment, and individualized treatment
individual, family, and group therapy
psychiatric medication consultations
peer support services
medication for addiction treatment
care coordination
referrals to treatment
timely follow-up appointments
and more!

In addition, if you would like immediate care for a mental health or substance use crisis, you can contact your local CBHC at any time of day to get connected to teams of trained professionals who will work with you at any location to address your needs and get you the care you need.
The E.R. is no longer your only option during mental health and substance use crises. You can call one of these CBHC teams to your home, your school, or – if you’d prefer – walk right into the center and meet with them there.
CBHCs also offer short term, 24/7 crisis stabilization care in a friendly, comfortable environment located within your community for those who need it.

CBHCs offer many types ongoing treatment in your preferred language for the whole family, including specialized services for youth, and work closely with your existing care providers and other community resources.

In addition to the CBHCs, MassHealth members can also access Behavioral Health Urgent Care locations for same day or next day mental health and substance use care, including assessments, treatment, referrals, and much more.

BH Urgent Care is designed to provide MassHealth members with easier access to mental health and substance use care they can get right in their community.

All locations are available during evening and weekend hours for your convenience.

  1. Nobody should ever use any of these "services". These people don't care about helping anyone who has severe mental illnesses. They left me to deal with major depression for years when they could have helped me
