Men, Mind & Mental Health: Breaking the Silence
In Nigeria, where boys are raised to be tough and emotions are seen as weakness, thousands of men are struggling silently with mental health issues. From depression masked as anger to rising suicide rates and emotional isolation, the pressure to “be a man” is taking a serious psychological toll. In this episode, Mazino and Judith sit down with Mohammed Ahmed, a Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Coach, to ask the hard questions: Why are so many Nigerian men afraid to speak up? What role does culture play in suppressing emotional expression? And is society ready to help men heal? This is not just a conversation—it’s a wake-up call.
