  1. To each his own way of helping themself, but exercise has been my absolute saving grace throughout the peri and menopausal journey. It leaves me feeling myself and healthy.

  2. I usually love the content of your channel which always offer practical tips and techniques so i was expecting better advice than antidepressants and hrt. No thanks.

  3. I'm now 62 and am somewhat disappointed in this advice. Although I did take bioidentical progesterone for a few years to help me with massive mood swings in perimenopause, I monitored it myself and did not rely on doctors who knew next to nothing about it. I also used bioidentical estrogen (which I could only get through a doctor) for about 3 months sporadically to get me over the hump when menopause first hit. I refused to accept that I would continue to need them and found other ways to enter menopause more naturally. It's unfortunate we don't have better training in gracefully entering our latter years. I will NEVER take antidepressants even though I am sometimes totally debilitated by depression. I know there are better ways than a "drug band aid" and keep working towards healing, even though I can't afford therapy.

  4. For those reading comments that are blasting medications as bad, and feeling even worse than you were already feeling because now 'pills are bad, you just need to suck it up' has been validated by strangers on the internet…. Stop. Not everything can be fixed with grit and ginkgo biloba. Talk to your doctor. If something isn't working talk LOUDER to your doctor. You should not have to suffer just to avoid taking medications. You don't deserve to suffer, for any reason. Do what you can with the resources available to you.

  5. Don’t be dissuaded by unsupportive comments; this advice is current and factual and your holistic approach is so helpful and inclusive. 💐

  6. i'm 54 and i'm feeling a bit anxious these days, two years ago i went on hrt but before that i'd been feeling lethargic. Not sure if the over-thinking im experiencing now is menopause or not.

  7. Sleep problems became so profound that I ended up taking doxepin and then weened off and take cbd now. Anxiety disorder made me want to vomit. Throat tightening stomach clenching whole nine yards. Perimenopause is not fun. Add mental trauma to it and its a miserable trifecta.

  8. Thank you for providing science based information. HRT is a life-saver, game-changer. I am sleeping deeply, my mood is under control and brain fog has cleared, along with joint pain.

  9. I wish I'd been more educated about this years ago. I'm 49 years old now, but got sick at age 34 with many symptoms, including ZERO progesterone, chronic migraines, chronic fatigue, insomnia, night waking, joint pain… And my doctors were useless. Gynaecologists didn't mention perimenopause. I had NO idea. Now I'm of age to be officially menopausal and reading about it, it's obvious.

  10. perimenopause and menopause cause so much damage to us women it used to be women ended off in psychiatric wards. today we know its the hormones. i would not tell you to knock ssris and hrt. they are lifesavers for many. i have heard from women who couldnt get it when they most needed and are so happy for our generation cuz there was nothing just 40 years ago. its no joke. dont take the comments here as the written rule and you will see negative and posiitve . get yourself a good doctor and you will feel better then. what i or others say here shouldnt be the determining factor.

  11. I love your channels and videos but highly disagree about encouraging women to seek SSRI's for a normal and natural change of life. We don't give SSRI's to girls when they go through puberty or when they have babies. Hormone changes are not always a walk in the park but we do not need to pathologize a normal aspect of life.

  12. Medications are not the solution. Those “medications”, that I now consider nothing but poison nearly took my life but thankfully God had other plans.

  13. My anxiety began when I was 37 . I had a big panic attack . Didn't know what the hell was happening to me , but I delt with it . Breathing into a paper bag . Taking a shower. Then after that I developed GAD . I got diazepam back then which really helped . A chemical hiatus . I didn't even take full allowed dosage . In fact I only took it for a couple of weeks . But now docs will not prescribe it . Shame , because I now drink in the evenings sometimes to destress myself . I know , not clever , but it helps me sleep if I have had a hyper vigilant anxious day . Well , I am refused Valium 😢? Why do doctors not prescribe this anymore ?? HRT and SSRIs??? Hmmm . Not for everyone . Do we have to pump these drugs and hormones into ourselves.?

  14. I went through living hell during menopause. I pretty much had every symptom over 30. And no that's not an exaggeration. Doctors have no idea about how to treat menopause other than the mirena coil with progesterone, hrt, or SSRIs.
The only thing which helped me was seeing a Naturapath and dietician,, and she helped me through herbal medicine, specific vitamins, diet and lifestyle changes.
It has to be approached at a holistic approach. Hormones affect every cell in your body, thyroid, hypothalamus, metabolism, mitochondria, and our brains.
    Nutrition and lifestyle is CRUCIAL.

  15. This info is so important. I had no idea that perimenopause could cause this.
I’m 43 years old, I started having panic attacks out of nowhere when I was 40. Within this last year they became so debilitating. I felt like I was losing my mind. I was put on Lexapro. I feel like a better version of myself. I tried talking to a therapist, practicing mindfulness and taking supplements. They didn’t help me. I am so thankful that we have these medications available. I couldn’t imagine living life feeling the way I did before.

  16. Any women out there experience mostly positive physical and mental results after entering menopause? Yes, it's a little more difficult to shift that belly fat, but other than that it's been really smooth sailing for me. Anxiety is at an all time low, no hot flashes, no dryness down there (lol), even seasonal allergies are gone (I had very little reaction to spring pollen this year). I'm just grateful. But, I feel odd, too, wondering if there are others like me who have felt better entering menopause.
