Mental Health and Addiction Recovery at Rogers Behavioral Health
[Music] so often addictions are related to mental health problems where people are trying to mask mental health problems using things like alcohol marijuana or other substances to alter their mood we’re looking to help them improve their emotions so that they don’t feel like they need to take illegal drugs or drugs that can have serious consequences the value of having everything under one program is that we can address both at the same time as opposed to being in programs where they’re only focused on the substance use so they’re only focused on the mental health problems here we can provide treatment for the combination of problems that someone may come in with we have to look at it from a holistic approach otherwise we’re just going to only get so far with that patient we’re not going to really get them to learn new strategies learn new ways and learn new behavior changes when it comes to using that substance and how to either reduce the use or maintaining sobriety you’re not just addressing the addiction but you’re also addressing what is fueling the addiction the depression is feeling it the anxiety is fueling it you know maybe grief is fueling it and you’re you’re tackling all of those things as well and we use the skills and we teach you the skills to decrease your anxiety you know how to use this skill to increase your mood and we build that confidence within yourself for you to be able to implement these different type of skills when we look at addictions we know that families are really a part of the treatment and so we encourage families and want families to be a part of the entire treatment process because we really view them as the main supports for their loved ones patients leave here knowing how to treat themselves in the long term so that hopefully they never have to come back again you
