  1. Thank you all for sharing! Unfortunately, this wasn't taught back in the "olden days" and as a young T1, diagnosed in 1974, much of this awareness didn't come until much later. Regarding the fat camp "bubble", upon recognizing the food noise and the battle and introduced to Symlin, I learned I had to create that safety bubble for myself referencing the removal of the not-so-healthy binge options and the fat camps. My bubble though, super strict…I do NOT allow what I consider to be unsafe (be that donuts, cookies, candy, etc.). In my bubble, only what I cook is allowed (and I bake or cook many many safe items) or I'll reach for something like ChocoPerfection for that chocolate fix. Obviously today education has improved and the addition of GLP-1s has helped. If I do indulge in something like Chinese food, I'll only do items I know are zero or low sugar like cabbage with no sauce. Takes LOTS of practice and yes, self-discipline which takes time BUT, way happier today and healthier than I was at 20. I do still battle the guilt and self-disappointment if I make a choice that wasn't the greatest, or in my bubble.
