If those mental health workers simply directed students towards medication then unfortunately they were only worsening safety. Despite a literal printed black box warning about suicidal and homicidal ideation on antidepressants, the number of children at ever younger ages put on these meds in Colorado only continues to grow. Colorado’s emphasis on “mental health” rather than safety has resulted in our state becoming the school shooting capital of America. Our leaders’ allegiance to Big Pharma and the gun industry comes at the cost of American lives. Mental health screening only contributes to furthering stigma and increased social exclusion, my own life is proof.

Colorado is in charge of the schools not the feds, Colorado chooses not to protect our students.
