Transforming Mental Health in Europe
Europe is facing a mental health crisis. Armed conflicts, economic uncertainty, and the climate crisis have intensified demand and exposed systemic weaknesses, building on the increased pressures created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Services remain underfunded, fragmented, and unequally distributed.
In this video, authors of The Lancet Regional Health Europe Series on Transforming Mental Health in Europe present their key findings and recommendations, outlining the urgent need for action across four areas: the wellbeing of health-care workers, the mental health of children and young people, challenges in Central and Eastern Europe, and gaps in service coverage.
