Today on The Ranveer Show, we welcome Dr. Samir Parikh. He is a consultant psychiatrist and the Director of the Department of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences, Fortis Healthcare, with 26 years of expertise. In this podcast, we broke down the topic of mental health at a deeper level.

In this episode, we talked about depression, anxiety, why people feel depressed, and the effect of bullying on a person’s mental health, when you should visit a doctor, why people self-diagnose themselves, and much more. We also discuss ADHD and how it can affect daily life, the impact of bullying on mental health, particularly in the digital age, and the importance of seeking professional help for various mental health conditions.

This was a mental health special episode that, in my opinion, everyone should watch to understand when they should see a doctor and what is the reason behind their prolonged sadness. I hope you will enjoy this conversation and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

  1. How do you think people will go to a psychologist or psychiatrist without any fees ? Kids like me who are dependent on parents and who never got to talk about emotions or anything in the family would be able to talk about depression with them? We never learnt how to express ourselves, all life we felt neglected and unseen , emotional unavailability is something we went through all since early ages and now when we are stucked in this loop of "idk where I belong where I can find my Happiness"
No one is there to hold us and tell us that it'll be fine , I hear you , don't feel sad .
No one is here to help us and in all such cases self diagnosis is the only thing we can try.
So stop feeling sad for us if you can't do anything for us.

  2. In youtube channel all are showing their happy face and no one not show their sad state to happy state their transforming process and how they had recovered from trauma or any big incident happen in their life .

  3. When I had an argument/fight with my husband,, i couldn’t say anything more because then i will be that girl who speaks too much and all of that, instead i chose to keep quite and remained sad.

I kept on crying for days and days now wo fight ka reason b sab khatam ho gya but wo jo deepest black hole create ho gya…. It’s been weeks and weeks and i am not happy, i am just so sad.

  4. I had mental health issues because of surrounding and linking to some the peculiar toxic and creepy girls
It's was constantly frustrating and draining
I lost my wit and they took me and my self respect for granted
They still uphold to be so poisonous being 'competitive'
Remember your friend can't be your competition.

  5. I feel depressed just coz of staying abroad….not that i like people in India who are related to me ..but ya i think India irrespective gives me freedom of work and hobby and independence….Outside India i feel being very dependant on husband who doesnt care that i m depressed or prefers to ignore conveniently coz he prefers to stay abroad….how can i solve it…i dont see being able to move to India soon unless i just decide to divorce my husband which is culturally unacceptable in the families we belong..so will indeed give le loneliness eitherways

  6. Dr. Rosmarin shared is not just theory—it works. I’ve practiced and taught these exact shifts, especially the part about transforming anxiety into a cue for presence, not panic.

  7. Mere maap baap to meri depression ki wajah se mujhe jahar deke marna chate hau
Wo feeling koi btayega kuch khati hu to dar lgtaa hai ismejahar to nahi hai mai ghut rha kaid hu plz help anyone

  8. Please bring in alternative effective therapies too like Bach flower remedy specialists,Ayurveda, siddha practitioners too .. Watching your episodes from Canada …

  9. It was a good episode❤… But apologies to say here Ranveer that your excitement of asking questions did not allow the speaker to complete the details of the term Hyperactivity Disorder….

  10. We must ask the question why is anxiety and depression and other mental illness is high and growing exponentially. I agree social media plays a huge part but please also speak to the effect of families breaking apart, violent movies and video games impacting anxiety and depression. Before we had a saying that ‘It’s the Village that raises the child’. In my childhood we always had a friend or relative that we could talk to or they would talk to us because they recognized something now quite right. Now this is missing because we all are so distracted by TV and media, war and politics.
