In the past, autism was mistakenly classified as a subtype of psychosis, reflecting how limited our understanding of the condition once was. Early psychiatrists viewed autism through the lens of severe mental illness, grouping it with disorders like schizophrenia because both involved social withdrawal and atypical behavior. This misunderstanding highlighted the lack of knowledge about developmental and neurological differences, as well as the absence of reliable diagnostic tools. Today, research has shown that autism is a neurodevelopmental condition, not a form of psychosis. It affects how the brain processes communication, social interaction, and sensory information—areas very different from those involved in psychotic disorders. The shift away from this outdated classification marks major progress in psychiatry and neuroscience, showing how far we’ve come in being able to recognize, diagnose, and support autistic individuals with a more accurate and compassionate understanding of their condition. #autism #adhd #neurospicy #history

Yeah they used to just put these kids into an asylum 😢
I hope you know your Soul returns over & over – 'souls' cannot die. They are the very Spiritual Breath of Cosmic Love. They recycle until the Angel is revealed & goes to work invisibly on their final incarnation.

Poor baby had to deal with shitty ppl 😢 those same ppl exist today, call everything they don't understand psychopathy, not to mention the sexism and racism 😞
How bout we just let a baby be a baby and not knit pick and bully a kid 🤨🤨🤨🤨
But now everybody wants to be autistic and you don't know how much it pisses me off is somebody that was in special at his entire life. I've seen it all from people who just think a little differently and are a little eccentric all the way to the bad side of it where they're like in their '20s but they're like mentally seven which honestly sucks. But now we've got people who want to be autistic and they say that their neurodivergent and stuff. I was in special ed. I've seen it all. You don't want to have autism. It's not something that makes you look cool. If anything it's insulting
When he said "no speach, flapping hands, and walking on tip-toe" I thought, "That child is on the spectrum."
We had it, but not in the huge numbers we have today.
Literally nobody claims it didn’t exist in the past. The concern is the rapid explosion in case rates.
If you wanna see a "fake" video of actual behaviour ofl psychopathy in a child .. watch the movie . . We need to talk about Kevin.
Its used in a universitres as a good example of what it may look like.
Its also used to talk about the topic . Of Genetics or Environment
My uncle (68 yo) was one of those with "psychosis" when he was in his early teens, but my grandparents refused to acknowledge it, or have him committed. He never had a normal life as such, never had a relationship, never had children etc, but he still lived his days doing his things that made him happy, and im thankful for that. Sure he was peculiar, but he was knowledgeable in things most werent, and we indulged in that when we need the knowledge. Im thankful my grandies never had him committed because of "psychosis" cos I have had a relationship with my uncle, that i may otherwise never would have had.
I was raised to mask all the behaviors, because literally, the state came and took you away.
People still think that way, and there are some who think someone on the spectrum are of the devil and that prayer can take it away, because it's not a brain disorder, they think its a spiritual disorder. But also those same people often are bullies who like provoking to get a reaction, and then deny they did anything at all.
Psychotic!?
Poor little child.
when the vaccinations started pumping the neurological damage started growing.
They've been ignoring women's health and men's health for decades and decades and still ignore it today.
Ass burgers
As soon as I heard psychotic child, I knew it was autism. Unbelievable they used to call it that 😂
Late diagnosed my youngest child is level 3 and this history makes me sad and yes we have made progress but with who is in charge now we are reversing backwards and this also makes me very sad!
"We didn't have X disorder in my time!' is always best countered with "And Mount Everest didn't get that name until about 1850-ish, but the dang mountain still EXISTED."
'Twas the mother's fault! 😥
I wonder how John is doing today?
I'm sorry, but I was born in 71 and I only knew one kid who was "hyperactive" and nobody who had autism. There wasn't a bunch of kids being sent to asylums either.
autism in the south of united state back in the day was called " that boy ain't right"
My son hast Asperger. He's a Psychopath, too.
Yes, we 'changelings' from the fairy realm, as we were known in ages past, do contribute to society.
We also know that our condition has nothing to do with Tylenol or the MMR vaccine (I never had the MMR vaccine because I had measles before I was six months old).
I had the other M and the R vaccines separately.
They were also free, as I am British. 🇬🇧
Bigger the brain the more room for wrong.
"Psychosis" is much a more accurate description of the disorder. This from DDT which is Carbon16Oxygen16, agent orange makes microenchephaly and its c12o12, while autism "autisms a spectrum" a spectrum of monsanto poisoning. The people who made ddt, agent orange, and round-up Carbon8Oxygen8.
my mom is autistic, level 2. really can't function in society and never really has. they said she had "infantile schizophrenia." Nope, she had autism, depression, anxiety, adhd, and paranoia. and yes it absolutely sucked being raised by her, though she tried to love me.
My Dad's Belgian Family has Asperger's along with genetic dyslexia. My Dad high IQ temperate character did very well for having been born in the 1920's. My sons and 2 grandsons, 2 of 4 nephews as well. A very few female cousins, there were 56 cousins, also
“No longer call it that because he collaborated with the Nazis”….so what do we call Volkswagens now? 😅
Would you PLEASE EDUCATE RFK !!!
Before you even began talking I said out loud “he clearly has autism”.. we may have come fa, unfortunately not nearly far enough!!
My elders son is on the spectrum.. he’s very high functioning but way too trusting of others!
I always say that there was autism, we just called it that quirky kid in the corner. I can list people from my very small high school that I would bet they have autism. This is life, evolving our knowledge on things and using that knowledge to try to make the world a better place for everyone! 💜
“We didn’t have autism” is like saying we didn’t have air. We hid people, locked them up, and sadly horrifically “lost” children at alarming rates (for all sorts of reasons) to be so naive and ignorant is just gaslighting the fact that sadly we haven’t grown far enough in the space of humanity even to today to support these children and their families.
They used to call us "fae children" and left us to die in the woods.
From a late diagnosed autistic person, thank you for bringing attention to this. We have always been here.❤
I'm 70 years old, diagnosed as autistic when I was 53. When I was a kid, autism was conceived of as a disorder that left people entirely unable to communicate with others, and was perceived as a disorder that left people unable to enact basic functions of life, like feeding oneself dressing oneself, etc. the Asperger's – now part of the autism spectrum – diagnosis only became recognized in 1994. I was diagnosed initially with Asperger's syndrome, but I disowned that label after I found out about the Nazi connection. Subsequent to that I have identified as autistic. Most recently, there has been research on a very large scale, identifying four distinct types of autism. This research actually revealed that profoundly affected children (and later adults) are actually a minority of people with autism. This is truly striking, because initially it was believed that it was the reverse, that profoundly affected people were the majority, and that those who are minimally affected, predominantly affected in their social abilities, were the minority. The greater awareness of the criteria has resulted in a great many more diagnoses of people on the higher functioning end of the spectrum as far as the ability to live independently and work as well, and this new study revealed that with so many more people being diagnosed with less profound manifestations, the less profoundly affected are actually the majority.

Autism existed back then, but the number of cases was much lower. Many people never saw or met an autistic child.
To the people who think we didn't have autism. do you understand the Salem witch trials?
Genetically, each generation will also have more gene mutation, which is why we see more and more of it.
Tell this to all the anti-vaxers who think vaccines cause autism
Autism has always existed, but many people were given other diagnoses if they even received a diagnosis. People with autism often had special professions and tasks they did because they were good at it. They contributed what they could. Then came a time when people hid away, people were ashamed of their children who were different. People were no longer accepted in the same way. Society changed, how we lived changed, and people's opinions, viewpoints, beliefs, etc. changed. Autism and other disabilities were put under the same diagnosis and many were considered more of a burden than a benefit. Today, diagnoses are more accepted and there is more help. That is why more people are also given diagnoses such as autism. That does not necessarily mean that more people have autism than before, just that more people are tested because it is more accepted.
Autism came about around the time the Rockefeller took over he education system and required kids to be vaccinated with toxic mercury and other heavy metal “vaccines”, and being pushed by demonic Drs and their Pharmakia. All Drs and medical “professionals belong to Lucifer and are doing his will, with his witchcraft and alchemy! The caduceus is all the proof you need! 2 serpents wrapped around a staff is demonic alchemy’s
Never trust any Dr!
This doesn't dismiss the link between vaccines and autism. There's much more to it. There's countless parents who saw their children change permanently moments after getting the a bunch of vaccines. I mean, the mercury and aluminum content is many times higher than what is considered safe. These metals cause brain damage. Go figure.
Ironic that the people who did the lobotomies then try to shame us now about the lobotomies….
That's not why we dont use that term. That's part of it, but there's a big part you're missing
