Mental health works the same way. The earlier we recognise the signs, the easier it is to intervene. Support at the early stages can prevent symptoms from worsening, reduce the likelihood of crisis and protect long-term wellbeing. Social media can offer awareness, relatability and comfort. Still, it cannot assess risk, recognise patterns, or tailor support to your individual history and circumstances, and social media can’t tell the difference between a rough patch and something more significant.
