Psychological Safety at Work

we all know what it feels like to be on a team where we are offered psychological safety it means that we can raise our hands and say I made a mistake or I don’t understand or I’ve got some stuff going on at home and it’s affecting my work or I need help or can you please be patient with me when we can say these things without any fear of humiliation or retribution um we can say these things without any fear that will hurt our promotability but more important we can say these things with the confidence that those in our team will rush in to support us or our leaders will rush in to support us and this is a huge factor for employee burnout because when we feel that we can say those things and we can feel supported and we’re more likely to seek help for whatever is stressing us out or causing us anxiety and more importantly we don’t feel alone as we’re going through the stress that’s leading to burnout so absolutely psychological safety is a big part of helping reduce employee burnout

  1. I agree, but the office is getting to be toxic, woke cancer culture., especially with the leadership of today.. especially in the more developed "wall street" countries ..I was very stressed n burnt out in a " first world nation" but when I transferred to Jakarta, south of that country, people were less judgemental n toxic. Always a kind word n the leadership has no problem granting me flexible working hours.

  2. This is so helpful to my husband because he is running some businesses that his father gave him. He’s learning to deal with employees.

  3. I've noticed it's all due to management. A company can have the ability to support someone but if the manager is not readily supportive and give a fuss everytime support it's asked, most people don't ask or tell and just grit their teeth through the work because it's a toxic environment where everyone is not helping each other under the rule of the manager.

  4. In retail, when your teams feel safe, so do your customers. Practicing open communication with your team trains them to have open communication with the customer. This does two things, increase trust of our customers, and gives us the ability to solicit feedback at the store level before it becomes a bigger problem.

  5. This stuff makes me want to barf! Simon has clearly never run a business because this crap is the domain of non-producers, those people who can be removed from an organization and it runs better without them. And he’s an influencer 🤦🏼‍♂️😂

  6. I have never had a company that has supported me , I could never be honest with people I work with or work for , it's weakness and some would jump on it

  7. My dear Simon, could you tell me why almost all supervisors or managers lack of support skills towards employees? Why are so jerks?

  8. Finding a team like this is like finding a unicorn in 2024. Everyone is stressed out, overworked, struggling financially and desperate to get ahead even if that involves dirty tactics against others.

  9. People that use that stuff in there life as an excuse to not put there 100% in really piss me off they play the poor me card and the ones really grinding not saying anything get the tuff end while they get the sympathy card so they can get a bigger raise. Then once they get their higher position half of them slack off and use the poor me card as an advantage till it ends up flipping on them into accountability we al have been there at one point in life but have to understand to take our own responsibility not play victim

  10. I worked a bunch of jobs and i was ALWAYS either humiliated or taken advantage of by both my "collegaues" and "bosses". Shitty JOBS and shitty MANAGERS are the CAUSE of the current state of society. People dont have time to LIVE. They are SLAVES. They are not allowed to complain. Not allowed to make a mistake. Not allowed to take a VACATION.Not allowed to take SICK LEAVE. Basically most job places silently STRIP their worker slaves of ALL HUMAN RIGHTS and people wonder why we are in the hell we are in right now (and have been for at least 30 years). And its going to get MUCH WORSE with AI replacing all jobs.
