EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – Staff members at Ivy Tech in Evansville are making sure they’re equip to help students in need.
37 faculty members participated in a mental health training today, focused on strengthening student support and create a safer environment.
The training course taught staff how to recognize mental health concerns and how to appropriately respond to students in crisis.
The session included practice tools and video scenarios to give staff real life examples.
Staff members say, this education is crucial when guiding college students.
The training was funded by a grant from the Circle of Ivy Philanthropy group.
