The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced that children need play for healthier growth, beyond basic needs such as food, water, and education.

On Monday, February 2, the organization wrote on its X page that play has an important role in strengthening learning and protecting their mental and physical health.

It is said that providing play opportunities can help children better manage psychological pressures and develop their social and cognitive skills.

This comes at a time when children in Afghanistan face difficult living conditions, and their mental health is severely vulnerable.

The lack of educational facilities, limited access to health services, and the experience of violence and humanitarian crises have caused many children to be deprived of the necessary support for their psychological and social development.
