Through a new partnership, Kansas State is offering mental health services through the mobile app, TimelyCare. The app comes free of charge to any enrolled K-State student.
To access TimelyCare, students download the app and register with their student email address. They will then be connected with counselors, therapists and health coaches, all professionally trained to support college students struggling with their mental health.
K-State vice president Thomas Lane said the partnership provides accessible care to all students.
“At K-State, we want every student to know they are never alone,” Lane said. “TimelyCare allows students —whether they’re in Manhattan, Salina, Olathe or learning online to connect 24/7 with licensed counselors and trained professionals at no cost, with no insurance or copays required.”
This new partnership allows students to fit mental health care into their own schedule.
Kara Fiske, executive director of Lafene Student Health and Counseling and Psychological Services, said TimelyCare will be a great resource for students.
“The implementation of TimelyCare represents an important step forward in how we support student well-being at Kansas State University,” Fiske said. “By offering 24/7 virtual access to care, we are removing barriers and making it easier for students to prioritize their mental health while balancing the demands of college life.”
Dr. Stephanie Jacobs, CAPS Associate Director, said students are welcome to use TimelyCare while utilizing other CAPS services.
“We are excited about the ways TimelyCare will expand on all the services that CAPS provides,” Jacobs said. “I am especially grateful that students have access to care 24/7 on the TimelyCare app, and, when in crisis, via CrisisNow services, which can be reached at 785-626-8878. This is a great addition for our Wildcat community.”
