LAFAYETTE, Ind.(WLFI) – The National Alliance on Mental Illness in Lafayette is being recognized for the work it does in the community.
The nonprofit recently earned accreditation for its crisis services programs from the American Association of Suicidology. NAMI peer Cade Quinn says this accreditation holds NAMI to a high standard with its services.
NAMI West Central Indiana serves the greater Lafayette area. The nonprofit provides support and crisis services for those struggling with their mental health.
The team recently added a 24/7 Crisis Hotline to be more readily available.
“The biggest thing I always say is that mental health never takes a break. You know, it doesn’t care what you’re doing or what you have going on. So mental health crises can happen at any point. So being 24/7, we want to be available and ready and able to respond to anybody,” said Quinn.
If you or a loved one is experiencing a mental health crisis, you can call for help from NAMI at (765)447-8494.
