Founder and vocalist for the alternative rock band The Lemonheads, Evan Dando was reported to have been admitted to a mental health facility. Details reveal that an incident with an unidentified fan led the singer to be hospitalized.
According to Variety, Dando was hospitalized on Thursday, Feb. 12, after having sent an unwanted sexual video to the said fan. The singer’s representative made a public statement addressing the situation and Dando’s longtime battle with mental health, “dating back to his childhood.”
“Evan Dando has long struggled with mental health issues dating back to his childhood,” read the statement. “He’s been admitted to a local hospital where he’s receiving comprehensive help from experienced doctors and mental health professionals.”

The fan details how she and the singer exchanged messages years ago through Twitter (now known as X). It all began when she sent him a congratulatory DM after the release of The Lemonheads’ latest album, that released in October 2025, titled Love Chant.
