A medical and mental-health expert has been granted access to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in the Chicago suburbs ahead of a preliminary injunction hearing in a case challenging detention conditions at the building.
Magistrate Judge Laura McNally on Friday partially granted an emergency motion from plaintiffs in the case. She ordered the government to allow the doctor’s visit, but stopped short of directing them to make detainees available to speak with him.
