One of northeast Mississippi’s major behavioral health centers for youth has celebrated an expansion.
Officials gathered at Diamond Grove Center in Louisville on Tuesday for a ceremonial ribbon-cutting for a new, 24-bed facility. The building is expected to be used to support acute psychiatric care, reduce hospital overflow, and create new jobs in Winston County.
“At Diamond Grove, this expansion means we can serve even more children and families when they need us most,” CEO Patrick Swoopes said.
Diamond Grove Center, which has served Louisville and surrounding areas for three decades, prides itself on providing “quality, comprehensive, family-focused treatment for children and adolescents ages 5-17, who suffer from serious emotional, psychological, or behavioral difficulties.” The medical provider also offers services for local schools and districts.
Officials hope the new building will be up and running in April.
