Reach and impact of the Parenting Education Support Program
Governments and societies worldwide face constant challenges – a rising cost of living, child maltreatment, poor school attendance, and screen time issues are just some of the factors impacting the mental health of our children.
It’s now more than two years into the Department of Health and Aged Care’s Parenting Education and Support Program, through which Triple P’s online programs are free for all parents and carers in Australia.
A world-first initiative improving the mental health and wellbeing of Australia’s children has positively impacted families across the nation.
So far, more than 375,000 parents and carers* have registered the online self-directed Triple P programs; proven to boost parent confidence and child behaviour.
Results of The University of Queensland’s independent evaluation demonstrate improvements in child emotional and behavioural problems, child anxiety symptoms, and parental mental health.
Importantly, these benefits are sustained over the long-term and across demographic groups.
