Uzbekistan is set to open a scientific laboratory at the newly established Center for Mental Health, aiming to study the causes of mental disorders and introduce advanced treatment methods for higher-quality care.
Specialized units for women and adolescents will be opened within the center’s addiction departments and branches, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Voluntary patients will also have access to anonymous paid consultations, along with additional mental health services.
The laboratory will focus on neuroimaging research, molecular genetics of mental disorders, and will include an educational and methodological division to support training and innovation.
Authorities also plan to support private psychiatric and addiction clinics. Facilities that are accredited and fully implement digital technologies will be eligible for incentives.
