The Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority is investing nearly $2 million to expand services across the state.

The Trust awarded more than $1.8 million in grants during the third quarter of fiscal year 2026, supporting programs that serve Alaskans facing mental illness, substance misuse, developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Officials say the funding will help improve care statewide, with projects ranging from early childhood programs to housing assistance and expanded behavioral health services.

Among the recipients are organizations like Covenant House Alaska, which received more than $300,000 to expand youth behavioral health and recovery services, and Southcentral Foundation, which was awarded funding to strengthen support for individuals with brain injuries.

Leaders say the grants are designed to support Alaskans at every stage of life and help build stronger, more inclusive communities across the state.
