Ventura—The Board of Supervisors, on Tuesday, March 3, appointed three people to two commissions.
Supervisor Vianey Lopez presented the recommendation, and she said Marlin Torres and Michael Rodriguez should be appointed to the Behavioral Health Advisory Board (BEHAB).
The Behavioral Health Advisory Board advocates for community members living with mental illness and substance abuse and their families.
“I’m pleased that they are willing to serve the Ventura County Residents,” she said. “The BHAB’s work has been done with distinction and commitment by both Miss Torres and Mr. Rodriguez.”
She said Edgar Yuann is the third appointment, and he is currently a member of the HIV Advisory Committee.
“He has created a partnership with the Centers for Disease Control in Ventura County Public Health to provide education and advocacy about HIV/AIDS and has developed multiple community events to raise awareness and provide a status-neutral approach to free HIV screenings and linkage to care,” she said. “Thank you for your service and your willingness to keep serving people in Ventura County.”
