David Lawrence Centers for Behavioral Health raised $1.9 million during its annual Sound Minds event March 19, supporting mental health and substance use services across Southwest Florida. The event brought together community leaders and featured a conversation with actor and advocate Gary Sinise focused on the challenges facing veterans and first responders. Proceeds will help expand access to care for children, families and adults regardless of ability to pay. Organizers also announced the 2027 event will feature Olympic gymnast and mental health advocate Aly Raisman, child safety advocate Elizabeth Smart and mental health speaker and Human Power Project CEO Ross Szabo.
