The community is being invited to rally in downtown Moscow in support of mental health services during the Palouse Mental Health Walk on Saturday, April 11, at Friendship Square.

The event will begin with a 10 a.m. rally and walk/race check-in. Organizers say speakers will share stories of wellness, and community resources will be available.

New this year is a costume contest starting at 11:30 a.m., with awards presented for the best-dressed walkers, runners, and canines.

The walk and 5K are scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m. and finish at 1 p.m.

“Mental illness is a disease, not a decision,” Sharlisa Davis, a certified facilitator of the LAMI Group said. “We want everyone to come out and show support for families living with mental health issues and remove the stigma surrounding mental illness.”
