The Mental Health and Recovery Board of Union County has fired its executive director.
“At a special meeting held on April 1, 2026, the Mental Health and Recovery Board of Union County voted to terminate the employment agreement of Executive Director Adam Negley,” Board Chair Adam Brown said in a statement. The action followed “a review of workplace concerns and consultation with outside human resources professionals.”
Negley, hired in December 2022 after serving as Pickaway County health commissioner, can request a hearing under the terms of his contract.
What’s next: The board appointed Holly Zweizig as interim executive director. A 13-year veteran of the organization, she has served as associate director for the past six years.
The leadership shakeup comes as the board works to shore up local services following Maryhaven’s planned closure in Marysville.
The board says services will continue while next steps — including a potential hearing — play out.
Above: Holly Zweizig will serve as the interim director.
