CALEXICO — The Imperial Regional Detention Facility will be partnering with the city of Calexico and surrounding communities to host the second annual mental health fair in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month at the facility. 

Mental Health Awareness Month is celebrated annually in May each year to help break the negative stigma that surrounds the topic of mental health. The annual mental health fair will be held in the parking lot at the Imperial Regional Detention Facility on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 9am to 12pm to the public. The fair is open to any local organizations or vendors that would like to partner with the initiative to support the Imperial Valley community in providing valuable resources to those in need. Any organizations interested in hosting a booth, please reach out to the facility at 760-618-7200 prior to Thursday, May 7, 2026. 

“It is imperative that we all do our part to combat mental health concerns today. MTC’s mission is to provide a social impact in the communities that we operate in,” said Imperial’s Facility Administrator Jeremy Casey. “Last year was our first event involving over 15 local organizations developing meaningful partnerships. I hope that this year is even better.” 

In partnership with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Management & Training Corporation (MTC) has operated the Imperial Regional Detention Facility since 2014 MTC is committed to providing a safe, clean, caring, and productive environment for residents throughout their short stay at Imperial.
